Sydney hardcore band SPEED will tour the country in August and September in support of their forthcoming debut album, ONLY ONE MODE. The tour kicks off in Brisbane on Thursday 22 August with shows to follow in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. SPEED will be joined on tour by UK post-punk band High Vis, US hardcore outfit Pain of Truth, and Singapore hardcore band Fuse. Details below.
ONLY ONE MODE is due for release on Friday 12 July through Last Ride Records locally and Flatspot Records in the US. The album will feature the recent singles “REAL LIFE LOVE” and “THE FIRST TEST.” SPEED, made up of Dennis Vichidvongsa, Josh Clayton, Kane Vardo, and Aaron and Jem Siow, released their debut EP, DEMO 19, in 2019. They followed up with Gang Called Speed in 2022.
The five-piece were part of the lineup for the 2024 edition of Knotfest Australia, which visited Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in March. Since then, the band have played a few dozen shows in the US. They’ll head to the UK and Europe later this month, performing at festivals such as Download (UK), Hellfest (France) and Resurrection Fest (Spain).
The upcoming tour includes SPEED’s biggest Australian headline shows to date.
