The playing times are here for the 18th edition of Golden Plains, which is happening at the Nolan family farm on Wadawurrung Country, between Ballarat and Geelong, from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 March.

Big names on the lineup include UK big beat crossover act Basement Jaxx, who’ll perform a live set at 11.10pm on Sunday, Norwegian/Danish savvy pop pair Smerz, who’re playing at 7.30pm on Saturday, Canadian instrumental band Badbadnotgood, who’re playing at 10.15pm on Saturday, and Wadawurrung man Uncle Barry Gilson, whose storytelling sesh is on at 11.50am on Sunday.
François K, the guy behind this and this and this, is scheduled in the day two reboot-your-booty time slot, presenting his “live stems” shows at 5.20pm on Sunday. Anatolian folk and psychedelia band Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek are playing earlier on Sunday afternoon, and so are Atlanta punks Upchuck.
Italian DJ Paquita Gordon has cancelled her Australian tour, including her late-night slot at Golden Plains. But in her place comes Sally C, a Belfast-rasied, Berlin-based DJ known for her “chunky” style of house, hip house, acid and breakbeat. Sally C will play the penultimate set of the festival, from 2.40 to 4.30 on Monday morning, before NTS host OK Williams spins house, techno, jungle, hip hop and electro right up till 7am.
Djrum and Hybrid Man are on late-night duties on night one, while Andy Le, Action Dan and Elsie will take care of the Saturday interstitials, and Action Dan, Sweetie and O Honey are taking care of the Sunday interstitials.
Gates open at 8am on Saturday. There’ll be a smoking ceremony at 1.10pm, Welcome to Country at 1.45pm, and founder Chris Nolan’s “long blink” at 1.55pm, before the first act, Public Figures, come on stage at 2pm.
Everything, save for the interstitial DJs, happens on one stage. Tickets are sold out.
