The nominees are in for the 2024 APRA Music Awards. Contenders for the event’s biggest prize, the peer-voted APRA Song of the Year, include Paul Kelly’s “If Not Now,” Angie McMahon’s “Letting Go,” Budjerah’s “Therapy,” G Flip’s “The Worst Person Alive,” and Troye Sivan’s “Rush.” Budjerah is the most-nominated artist across the board with a total of five nominations.
Song of the Year is the only award voted on by the APRA membership. The remainder fall into the “most performed” category and are determined by statistical analysis, with APRA calculating royalties earned across broadcast, digital downloads, streaming services, and live performances.
APRA has added a new category to the awards slate for 2024: Most Performed Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Work. Scene mainstays Parkway Drive, Polaris and The Amity Affliction are in with a shot. Find the complete list of nominees below. The awards will be handed out on Wednesday 1 May at ICC Sydney.
