triple j’s regional festival offering One Night Stand will return in 2024. The most recent One Night Stand took place in 2019 in Lucindale, South Australia. No lineup details for the 2024 event are available as yet, but the station has requested that anyone who wants their hometown to host One Night Stand fill in this form.

One Night Stand 2024 will be a one-day, all-ages, alcohol-free music festival, as well as a fundraiser for Australian music industry charity Support Act. “We recognise the festival landscape in Australia has changed since we last put on a One Night Stand,” ABC managing director David Anderson said in a statement.

According to Anderson, triple j and the ABC are working with both Support Act and Music Australia – the newly established peak body dedicated to the Australian contemporary music industry – to increase “much needed investment in the Australian music industry while staying true to One Night Stand’s core mission of delivering a one-of-a-kind event, accessible to the public, based in regional Australia.”

One Night Stand dates back to 2004 when the event launched in Natimuk, Victoria. The inaugural lineup featured Grinspoon, The Dissociatives, Koolism, Eskimo Joe and local act Less Than Perfection. The event has since travelled to remote locations in all states and territories (except ACT) and featured the likes of Hilltop Hoods, G Flip, Tash Sultana, Flume, Vance Joy and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
