SXSW Sydney announces first round of acts for 2024 music festival: Ayesha Madon, Maina Doe, SAHXL + more

The second annual SXSW Sydney is happening from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 October across a range of venues in and around the Sydney CBD. The first batch of music performers has been announced, with pop songwriter and Heartbreak High star Ayesha Madon and NT rapping brothers J-MILLA & Yung Milla on the lineup.

Sydney indie pop artist total tommy is also on the bill, alongside Colombian psych-rock trio BALTHVS, Melbourne post-punk duo HighSchool, Sydney R&B artist Maina Doe, Japanese-Filipino electronic pop act Ena Mori, Western Sydney hip hop and R&B artist SAHXL, and more.

The inaugural SXSW Sydney took place from Sunday 15 to Sunday 22 October, 2023. The program included artists from New Zealand, Indonesia, South Korea, USA, Thailand, France, Japan, UK, Canada, Hong Kong, Philippines and Malaysia, as well as dozens of acts from around Australia. The festival inhabited venues in Chippendale, Surry Hills, Ultimo and the Sydney CBD, along with a couple of shows at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park and the Factory Theatre in Marrickville.

As was the case last year, the 2024 event program extends beyond music to encompass tech and innovation, games and film. The first conference speaker announcement includes cricketer David Warner, USYD president Mark Scott, TikTok’s global head of business marketing Sofia Hernandez, AI Leadership Institute founder Noelle Russell, and loads more.
