RocKwiz, the TV quiz show turned live theatre production, has announced an extensive Australian tour for October through December 2024. Helmed by quizmaster Julia Zemiro and scorer Brian Nankervis, the Never Mind the Buzzers, Here’s RocKwiz LIVE! tour will visit metro and regional locations in all states and territories excluding Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Zemiro and Nankervis will be joined by their human scoreboard Dugald McAndrew and the RocKwiz OrKestra, which features keyboardist Clio Renner, guitarist Olympia and long-serving drummer Peter Luscombe, among others. Along with their trademark rock’n’roll trivia, the live show promises to include special musical and comedic performances.
“Getting back on the road and touring around the country is what RocKwiz does best,” said Zemiro, who’s been hosting RocKwiz since it launched on SBS TV in 2005.
Nankervis commented on the flexibility offered by a live tour compared to a TV show. “We’re constantly refining, evaluating the shows in hotel rooms and airport lounges,” he said. “Late night singalongs might be rehearsed the next afternoon and performed that night.”
Season 15 of RocKwiz aired on Foxtel in the early months of 2023. Jimmy Barnes, Tina Arena, Meg Mac, thndo and Megan Washington were among the guest quizzers.
