UK grime artists Headie One and Nemzzz lead Promiseland’s second lineup announcement. The Gold Coast festival has also recruited Lauryn Hill’s son, reggae artist YG Marley, dancehall act Skillibeng, Aotearoa singer-songwriter Stan Walker, and more. Promiseland comes to Gold Coast’s Doug Jennings Park from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October. Find the complete lineup below.
Producer Metro Boomin led the festival’s first lineup announcement, alongside Nigerian Afrorave pioneer Rema. Alt-R&B stars Miguel and Jorja Smith were also on there, and so was boom bap veteran Busta Rhymes, Nigerian megastars Asake, Tiwa Savage, Ruger, Shallipopi and Omah Lay, and Jamaican artists Beenie Man and Shenseea.
Several leading names in South African amapiano music will be at Promiseland, including Major League DJz, Kamo Mphela, Tyler ICU and Uncle Waffles. There are also plenty of Australian acts on the lineup, including rappers Vv Pete, Day1, Hooligan Hefs and B Wise, R&B artists Youngn Lipz, Kaiit, Pania, Adrian Dzuke, and more.
Promiseland is now in its third year and the festival organisers are calling this their biggest lineup to date. Ms Lauryn Hill headlined the 2023 event, with Tems, Fireboy DML and ONEFOUR also on the bill.
