Sydney two-piece Polish Club have released the new single, “Manila.” It’s their first release in more than 12 months and follows the band’s exit from the Island Records Australia roster. The duo of David Novak and John-Henry Pajak are now self-managing and have released “Manila” independently.
Polish Club will inaugurate this new phase of their career with a headline show at the Sydney Spiegeltent on Thursday May 23. Sesame Girl, Jet City Sports Club and Rat Public are lined up to support.
Novak and Pajak worked on “Manila” with engineer Simon Berckelman at Golden Retriever Studios in Marrickville. MAY-A and Gretta Ray collaborator Robby De Sa co-wrote the track. Polish Club and De Sa worked together on the 2023 single “Good Time,” which is nominated for Most Performed Rock Work at the 2024 APRA Music Awards.
