Nine-year-old Lola Jenkins has loved Taylor Swift since she heard “Shake It Off” as a four-year-old. Lola's favourite songs are “...Ready for It?” and “You Need to Calm Down”. Her favourite album is Reputation and she also likes Lover. Lola was on the ground to review The Eras Tour at Sydney's Accor Stadium.
We took the train to Olympic Park and we walked around for a bit and then we headed our way into where our seats were. It started raining so we had to put our rain jackets on and they kept saying, “All right everyone, evacuate the place,” because of the lightning and thunder.
We had to go to this tunnel place and I got hot chips, which was really yum. And at that time, I did quite a lot of bracelet swappings. I swapped bracelets with little kids, kids my age, teenagers, adults and even policemen and security guards. Isn’t that funny?
Once the raining stopped, we went back to our seats and this timer went off from two minutes. We thought Sabrina Carpenter was going to come on, but to our surprise Taylor Swift actually came on, and I was so excited I didn’t even mind that much.
When Taylor Swift came out, she was wearing her Lover outfit. She played “Cruel Summer” first. She said hello to Sydney and she put on a jacket, like a big suit top that was, like, baggy, and said, “Hey Sydney, you’re really making me feel like the man.” And then she played “The Man.”

The idea behind The Eras Tour was that she put every era of music she ever made into one big concert. After Lover, she did Fearless, and one of my favourite songs is “You Belong with Me”. And after that she did Evermore, and Evermore‘s pretty good, it’s not my favourite, but I do like “Willow” because it’s like she’s pretending to be a witch.
After Evermore was Reputation. My favourite ever. The most excited ones I was thinking of in Reputation was “Don’t Blame Me”, “Look What You Made Me Do”, “…Ready for It?” and “Delicate”. Her Reputation outfit was really cool. She had like sparkly reds on it and it was black and one leg had black tights on with reds on them and then one other leg didn’t have pants on them. And she was doing these really cool dances.
Now it’s time to discuss her “22” outfit – one of my favourites. She wears a black hat and at the end she gives it to someone. So, she was wearing a black hat and at the end she gave it to a kid that had cancer. That was really nice of her. She was wearing a white shirt that said, “A lot going on right now,” because when you turn 22 there’s a lot going on, when it’s your birthday. And there was also these girls behind me that were shouting really loud and they knew every single one of her songs.

And then it was Folklore. I’m not really a fan of Folklore because it’s kind of slow and I more like the pop side of Taylor. While she was doing Folklore, my dad and I got just another thing to eat. So, I got a Maxibon ice cream because that’s a really nice ice cream that I like to get.
And now we’re ready for 1989. The first song of 1989 was “Style” and then after that it was “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off”, but in “Shake It Off” she was so close to us so that was cool.
After that was Midnights. That’s my dad’s favourite. I remember all the songs from Midnights so I’m going to say them. First was “Lavendar Haze”, second was “Anti-Hero” and third was… it’s a song but it has the “S” word in it so I’m not going to say it but it starts with a “V”. And after that it was “Midnight Rain” and then there was “Bejeweled”.
By the end of the show, I was really tired. I couldn’t even stand up for the songs I liked, so we decided to go home.
All in all, Taylor Swift played a great concert with over 40 songs and it was over three hours. I can’t believe she does that. Can you believe that? How does she have so much energy?
Taylor Swift brought The Eras Tour to Australia for three shows at the MCG, Melbourne, from Fri 16 to Sat 18 Feb and four shows at Accor Stadium, Sydney, from Fri 23 to Mon 26 Feb.
