Festival of the Stone has confirmed its 2024 return, locking in headliners Dan Sultan and Beddy Rays for an early winter bash at Stone & Wood Brewery in Byron Bay. Joining them are Sydney’s self-described pub-pop trio The Beefs, Perth outfit Verge Collection, Brisbane five-piece Mid Drift and Byron-based psych-pop act AKA Lui.
Festival of the Stone is happening on Saturday 1 June and is a collaboration between Stone & Wood and Byron events agency Club Raiders. “With Splendour and other festivals having a year off, we’re injecting a little more love into the music side of things this year,” said Stone & Wood marketing manager James Aris.
Festival of the Stone will double as a fundraiser for the Fletcher Street Cottage, which is working to support those affected by Byron’s growing homelessness crisis. “With Byron having one of the highest homeless populations in the nation, now is as important as ever to support those sleeping rough,” said Aris.
In addition to the live music lineup, there’ll be a stack of DJs playing throughout the seven-hour event, including Bean Dip, Dan Muz, Yazmin and Cashew. There’ll be a bunch of food trucks on site, kid-focused activities, and a ceremonial tapping of the brewery’s high-strength Stone Beer.
