Perth is getting a new festival this October. The inaugural Promise Village lineup is full of international acts spanning the Afrobeats, R&B, grime, hip hop and amapiano genres. Headliners include London Afroswing MC J Hus, Nigerian Afrorave pioneer Rema, UK alt-R&B star Jorja Smith and grime artists Headie One and Nemzzz.
The majority of Promise Village acts will also be performing at Gold Coast’s Promiseland festival over the first weekend of October. Promise Village is happening at Langley Park in central Perth on Saturday 12 October. Tickets go on sale Monday 15 July. You can sign up for pre-sale via the website.
The lineup also includes South African amapiano DJs Uncle Waffles and DBN Gogo, British afroswing crew NSG and Nigerian producer Sarz. Just two Australian acts are listed in the first lineup announcement: DJs Jazmine Nikitta and Sasha Fern. Find all the details below.
