Sonder Festival is back for its second year this Easter long weekend. The three-day festival is happening at Our Friends Farm – the former home of Boogie – in Tallarook, on Taungurung Country, central Victoria.
The lineup is dominated by dance music DJs, including Atlanta’s Nikki Nair, London’s Yung Singh and Buenos Aires via Berlin DJ Morphena. There’ll be a selection of live performances across the weekend, including sets from Western Sydney based K-rap group 1300, indie rock band Radio Free Alice, hip hop duo INQ., funk and acid jazz crew Birdsnake, and hip hop and gospel-influenced techno artist Detroit In Effect.
Plenty of Naarm-based DJs are on the lineup, such as Bertie, DJ Earl Grey, Soju Gang, Caucasian Opportunities, DJ Belle, Prizefight and WVCHWY. Find the complete lineup and playing times below.
Gates open at 11am on Friday 18 April. The festival runs until the early hours of Monday morning, but entry will close at 7pm on Saturday 19 April. According to Google Maps, the festival site in Tallarook is a one hour and twenty minute drive from the Fitzroy cafe that I’m currently sitting in. The V/Line train goes to Tallarook from Southern Cross station and there’ll be a shuttle bus waiting to take punters to the festival site.
Sonder 2025 is sold out. “This is quite a surreal moment,” festival founders, 188 Naarm, wrote on social media. “A testament to the resilience of this community in a time where it’s not exactly feasible to run a festival,” they said. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
