Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore are back wearing over-the-top and potentially culturally-appropriated regalia, and they’ve announced an Australian tour in support of their forthcoming album, Ask That God. The fourth Empire Of The Sun album is out on 26 July and the synth-pop duo will play shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in October and November.
“Empire cannot wait to see you all,” Steele said in a statement. “Get ready, this is gonna be a wild ride as we embark on a journey unlike any other Empire has been on. New record, new show, new era, let’s go!”
Two tracks from Ask That God have been released as singles: “Changes” and “Music On The Radio.” Watch the video for the latter below. Steele described the band’s first LP in eight years as “an album we searched for and were thankfully blessed with. We are nothing more than conduits, gathering experience and finding what is meant for the Empire to find.”
Empire Of The Sun’s previous album, 2016’s Two Vines, peaked at #7 on the ARIA albums chart and sprouted the hit singles “High And Low” and “Way To Go.”
