More than two hundred thousand people attended Glastonbury 2024, held at Worthy Farm in Pilton, UK, from Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 June. Along with headline sets from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, the event featured live performances from Australian artists Confidence Man, Angie McMahon, The Cat Empire, Jordan Rakei and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, and DJ sets from HAAi, Joy (Anonymous), CC:DISCO! and Tornado Wallace.
Fun-focused dance outfit Confidence Man were the highest billed local act on the lineup, luring an enormous crowd to the Other Stage on Friday afternoon. The Brisbane-via-London band performed tracks from their forthcoming album, 3AM (LA LA LA), as well as back catalogue favourites “Don’t You Know I’m in a Band” and “Holiday.”

Jordan Rakei, another Brisbane-via-London artist, performed on the West Holts Stage on Sunday afternoon. A large ensemble of instrumentalists and backing vocalists joined the NZ-born, Brisbane-raised and London-based Rakei for a performance centred on his latest LP, this year’s soulful and sonically adventurous The Loop.
A massive crowd gathered to see riff-happy psych-rock crew Psychedelic Porn Crumpets tear up The Park Stage on Sunday afternoon. As popular in the UK as they are in Australia, the Perth band blitzed through a set of songs with ridiculous titles, including “Hymn for a Droid,” “Found God in a Tomato” and the psilocybin containing “Cubensis Lenses.”

The Cat Empire are no strangers to Glastonbury, having performed at the festival in 2007 and 2019. Vocalist Felix Riebl and keyboardist Ollie McGill returned to the Avalon Stage on Sunday evening to show off their all-new lineup. “So great to be back on the Avalon stage for the 3rd time having a big ol’ party on the final night of the festival,” the band wrote on social media. The Cat Empire’s Glastonbury slot came at the start of a mega UK/EU festival tour.
Following three sold-out shows at London’s 600-capacity Lafayette theatre, Angie McMahon performed a solo set on Glastonbury’s Acoustic stage at lunchtime on Friday. “Thank you for filling that tent, I nearly cried when I saw y’all,” McMahon wrote on social media. The performance focused on the Melbourne/Naarm singer-songwriter’s latest LP, Light, Dark, Light Again, while also making room for old favourites “Slow Mover” and “Pasta.”
