Win a double pass to Cass McCombs at Thornbury Theatre

US singer-songwriter Cass McCombs is heading back to Australia for a tour in support of his 11th studio album, Interior Live Oak, which came out on Domino in August 2025. He’ll perform at Melbourne’s Thornbury Theatre on Thursday 28 May. We have two double passes to give away – details below.

McCombs has been putting out albums for more than two decades. The double-LP Interior Live Oak was widely praised as one of his finest releases to date.

The Guardian gave it five stars, saying that the 74-minute LP “begins at the highest songwriting level and barely wavers.” Pitchfork gave it a rating of 8.1 out of 10, saying that the album is full of “gorgeous melodies, alert arrangements, and brilliant rhetorical mechanisms; songs that make you wow and hmm.”

McCombs’ Australian tour also includes a dual-headline show at the Sydney Opera House with Cate Le Bon, part of Vivid LIVE, and a show at Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal with Carla Dal Forno. Tickets are on sale via Mistletone.

To win one of two double passes to Cass McCombs’ Melbourne headline show at Thornbury Theatre, tell us your all-time favourite sad song.
