Meredith, now in its 33rd year, fits 13,000 people and it always sells out. The ballot is the number one way to obtain a ticket.

The lineup will be announced when the ballot is drawn, though discussion has been raging for months. Suggestions from this Reddit thread include US punk band Snõõper, who last toured Australia in 2023 and released a new EP, Unknown Caller in June; French electro-rock duo Justice, who’re touring Australia in early December; and Southern Gothic revivalist Ethel Cain, who’ll release her second album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, in August

Other international acts who’ve announced Australian tours for December include Loyle Carner, Throwing Muses, Franz Fedinand and Marlon Hoffstadt. Though, this is nothing more than speculation, and besides, as one user wrote on Reddit, when it comes to Meredith, “it’s always the people you least expect!”

Meredith 33 is on from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 December at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, on Wadawurrung Country, in central-western Victoria. Last year’s lineup included Jamie xx, Glass Beams, Waxahatchee, Good Morning, Genesis Owusu, Fat White Family, Mannequin Pussy and more.
