Brisbane music festival and conference BIGSOUND has unveiled the first round of speakers for its 2024 event, taking place in Fortitude Valley from Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 September. Amyl and the Sniffers frontperson Amy Taylor will deliver the conference’s keynote speech, drawing on her experiences working in Australia and internationally over the last eight years.
Taylor is the only Australian music industry representative in BIGSOUND’s first speaker announcement. London-based creative consultant Elijah – co-founder of the Butterz label and one half of the DJ duo Elijah & Skilliam – is one of several international names confirmed for the event.
Infectious Music founder and A&R expert Korda Marshall is also on board, and so are Adam Ryan of UK festival The Great Escape, Patrick Daniel of Germany’s Reeperbahn Festival and Dev Sherlock of Austin’s South by Southwest.
Casper Mills of UK indie stable 4AD will make the trip to Fortitude Valley for the occasion, along with Bradly Palmer from Concord Music Publishing and Naomie Abergel from music discovery platform Sound.xyz.
