Glastonbury 2025 ran from Wednesday 25 June until the early hours of Monday 30 June.
The Pyramid Stage headliners were Neil Young, The 1975, and Olivia Rodrigo. Elsewhere on the mammoth lineup were Nile Rodgers and Chic, RAYE, Alanis Morissette, Scissor Sisters (and Ian McKellen,) Jorja Smith, Doechii, Charli XCX, The Prodigy, Deftones, and bazillions more.
Despite pressure from a host of music industry executives and the UK’s famously unpopular Prime Minister, Irish rap trio Kneecap retained their spot on the lineup. They led multiple “Fuck Keir Starmer” chants during their set, in addition to voicing their support for a free Palestine.
“This situation can be quite fucking stressful for us at times, but the stress that we’re feeling is minimal compared to what the Palestinian people are going through every fucking day,” said the band’s Mo Chara.
“We’re from West Belfast, a place still under British occupation – and Derry – so we understand colonialism,” he continued. “The Irish suffered 800 years of colonialism at the hand of the British state. But the Irish, we were never bombed from the skies with nowhere to go. The Palestinians have nowhere to fucking go, literally.”
Bob Vylan made headlines for leading a chant of “Death to the IDF,” a reference to the Israel Defence Forces – an occupying force that is committing genocide in Gaza. On the back of this chant, the duo were accused of antisemitism by the BBC and had their US visas revoked. “We are being targeted for speaking up,” the band said in a statement. “If you care for the sanctity of human life and freedom of speech, we urge you to speak up, too.”
Plenty of Australian acts performed at Glastonbury 2025. Glass Beams played at 2.30pm on Friday 27 June on the West Holts Stage.
Amyl and the Sniffers played on the Other Stage at 5pm on Saturday.
Parcels played at 8pm on Sunday on West Holts.
Royel Otis played on the Park Stage at 3.15pm on Sunday.
Glastonbury’s dance music component is always a monumental sidebar to the main event, and the Australian DJ contingent in 2025 was extensive. Sonny Fodera and Logic1000 were on in Arcadia. Roza Terenzi played in Levels. Surusinghe went b2b with UK DJ Parris.
Confidence Man played several DJ sets across the weekend, including a b2b with Dutch DJ Job Jobse and a b2b with DJ Boring.
