triple j’s Bars of Steel is hitting the streets. The station’s long-running freestyle rap series will hold its first live event on Saturday 25 May at 119 Macquarie Street, Parramatta – approximately 25 kms west of the Sydney CBD.
Acts from Western Sydney dominate the lineup, including global club-influenced rapper Vv Pete, R&B singer-songwriter A.GIRL and dance-pop artist Becca Hatch. The R&B king of Western Sydney, Youngn Lipz, is on headline duties, while triple j presenter Latifa Tee will host the event.
The lineup also includes modular reggae artist Gold Fang, indie pop beatmaker FRIDAY*, triple j Unearthed High winner LEE., DJ Boosie, and resident host of triple j’s Hip Hop Show, Isaac Puerile.
The gig runs from 5-10pm. Entry is free but tickets are distributed via a ballot.
