Listen Out will bring a raft of major names in hip hop, R&B, pop and electronic music to Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney in late September and early October. The offshoot event Listen In will offer a smaller lineup in Adelaide.
US-based rapper 21 Savage is set to headline the festival nine months after the release of his third studio album, american dream. Tyla, responsible for the most addictive pop song of the last 12 months, “Water,” will play her debut Australian shows at Listen Out, and so will “Never Lose Me” rapper Flo Milli. Ben Gerrans, Cassian and Lithe lead the local names on the bill.
Listen Out has organised the lineup into a few sections. Under hip hop/R&B, there’s 21 Savage, Skepta, Lil Tjay, Tyla, Flo Milli, Jessie Reyez, Teezo Touchdown and Lithe. In the electronic category, you’ll find A Little Sound, AK SPORTS, Ben Gerrans, The Blessed Madonna, Cassian, Conducta, Disco Lines, Folamour, Jazzy, John Summit and Sub Focus.
Local acts Djanaba, FOURA, Tom Santa, Miss Kaninna and Soju Gang make up a category of their own, and there are also a bunch of DJs designated for each individual city.
First release tickets will go on sale this Thursday 6 June for $189.90 a pop. The price will rise in $10 increments the closer the event gets to selling out, with the max ticket price $219.90. There are also VIP tickets, which begin at $280.90 and peak at $300.90.
